Investment

  • Moogies was established in 2013 to acquire existing pubs & restaurants that were underperforming or closed & through investment, turn them into sustainable businesses, recognised & valued by the communities they serve.
  • The company is 100% privately owned, operated & financed, allowing us to make all decisions in the best interest of the venues, our customers & the people who work for us.

Local Engagement

  • We engage with the local community in a number of ways, including:
    • Providing support for local fundraising events
    • Showcasing art from local artists
    • Running a local book club at The Black Boy and The Dinton Hermit
    • Running a monthly charity quiz night at both pubs
    • Inviting local musicians to get involved when we host our summer busking event
    • Providing local employment
    • Hosting The Little Bigg Jazz Club monthly at The Dinton Hermit

Moogies Giveback

  • Our Moogies Giveback Scheme offers 10% off food & drink to nurses, community care workers, prison officers, state school members of staff or people working within the emergency services or armed forces. This offer applies to the qualifying individual and up to 5 guests with them. It’s our gesture in recognition of the great work they do!
  • To date, the scheme has provided savings of £6,590.

Charities

  • We’ve always supported local charities. Our ‘dish donation scheme’ has raised over £8,830 for local charities so far.
  • We also host monthly charity quiz nights, put collection tins on the bar, raise funds through raffles & staff fundraising initiatives & support fundraising events where we can.
  • Our nominated charity for The Black Boy and The Dinton Hermit is Heart Of Bucks. This community foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people in Buckinghamshire by funding vital local charities & community organisations.

Moogies Sustainability Manager on panel

  • We are members of the Buckinghamshire Business First (BBF) Net Zero Collaboration Circle and of the Net Zero Buckinghamshire Steering Group.
  • On Clean Air Day, Moogies were invited to contribute as a speaker at the BBF ‘Focus on Marketing your Green Credentials’ event. This event was led by Ngage Solutions & our Head of Marketing & Sustainability, Helen Barrett, was one of 3 people to take part on the panel.
  • Our Head of Marketing & Sustainability has also been invited for the past three years to be a guest lecturer at Oxford Brookes University. The presentation is to final year Event Management students about how and why Moogies have been adopting a more sustainable approach to the way we operate.
